Graduate Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification
We’re looking for an outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant who holds:
- A 2:1 or above degree from a top-30 University in English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Psychology, or a related subject
- A strong academic background through GCSE’s and A-Levels
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with secondary students
- Patience, adaptability, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
- Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working with young people (desirable but not essential)
Graduate Teaching Assistant: Job Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your role responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups, particularly those who need extra guidance to reach their potential
- Assisting the teacher in delivering engaging lessons
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all learners feel supported
- Helping students prepare for exams, coursework, and class projects
