What you will do:

  • Manage, prioritise, and accept case allocations as directed.
  • Carry out assessments of children and families, recommending services to meet agreed outcomes.
  • Liaise with other professionals and agencies to fulfil statutory duties and achieve the best outcomes.
  • Record extensive case notes, write reports, and prepare documentation for legal or care proceedings; may also give court testimony.


Safeguarding and Legal Duties

  • Undertake statutory assessments including S47 inquiries, single assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Develop and implement safeguarding or care plans with children, families, and carers. Review outcomes and adjust plans as needed.
  • Write reports for child protection conferences, legal reviews, and represent cases in court.
  • Support statutory responsibilities under the Children Act 1989 and 2004, including care provision and legal duties to safeguard welfare.


Collaboration and Multi-agency Working

  • Plan and commission services for children, young people, and families.
  • Organise and chair key meetings, including core groups and planning sessions.
  • Partner with colleagues across various services (e.g., education, health, adoption, Leaving Care) to ensure children’s voices remain central.


Case Documentation and Review

  • Maintain accurate records via departmental systems, adhering to confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Engage fully in supervision and performance appraisal processes.
