Duration: Ongoing

Dive into a thrilling opportunity as a Locum Social Worker within Family Court Advisor in Essex. Earning a competitive hourly rate of £35.50, this full-time position offers you the chance to make a significant impact while enjoying the flexibility and variety that locum work provides. This ongoing role is perfect for someone seeking the dynamic nature of locum assignments, with the added bonus of supporting families across the beautful county of Essex.

Benefits abound in this role, both as a locum and within the job itself, inviting you to experience a rewarding career path with plenty of growth and adventure.

Perks and benefits:

  • Locum: Enjoy the freedom and flexibility that locum work offers, allowing you to explore diverse roles and expand your experience without being tied down.

  • Diverse Work: Every day is different, keeping your job interesting and providing countless opportunities for professional growth.

  • Career Development: Access to various learning opportunities and support to enhance your skills and knowledge in the social work field.

  • Work-life Balance: While core hours are 9 am to 5 pm, some days offer the flexibility to work from home, giving you the chance to balance your personal and professional life.

What you will do:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of families and children, providing expert advice to the Family Court.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that best support children's needs.

  • Attend court hearings, presenting findings to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

  • Facilitate direct work sessions with children and families to gather information and offer guidance.

  • Maintain accurate and high-standard case records and reports for court proceedings.

  • Participate in induction, group supervision, and team meetings at the Chelmsford office to foster team collaboration and share best practices.

Any candidate would need to have access to transport so that you can visit families anywhere across the county of Essex. Attendance at the Chelmsford office is expected for induction, group supervisions, and team meetings. Core hours are 9 am to 5 pm, but some flexibility is required and is possible in order to meet the needs of children and families. There will be some days that you can work from home, but due to the requirements to attend court, meet children in person, and attend the office for planned meetings/learning opportunities, it is unlikely that this would regularly be the same day of the week, and therefore you would need to be available to work in the office/Essex area any day of the week. The work is fast-paced, and good planning, front-loading, and time management are essential. A high standard of written work is required, and good direct work skills are needed.

Living and working in Essex offers a vibrant lifestyle with its stunning countryside, historic landmarks, and bustling towns. With excellent transport links to London and the coast, you can enjoy the best of both urban and rural worlds. Make Essex your new home and enhance your career today!
