This full-time, term-time only position is ideal for graduates considering a future in teaching or a career within education. As a Graduate Physics Teaching Assistant, you’ll support students who require additional help in Physics, helping them build confidence, improve understanding, and achieve academic success.
Graduate Physics Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities
- Support Physics lessons by providing focused academic assistance
- Lead small group activities and 1:1 intervention sessions
- Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver effective support strategies
- Identify learning gaps and help bridge them
- Promote a positive attitude toward Physics and scientific thinking
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment
Who We’re Looking For
We're seeking an enthusiastic and driven graduate who meets the following criteria:
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Physics or a closely related subject (e.g., Engineering, Astrophysics, Natural Sciences)
- Strong subject knowledge and analytical thinking
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
- A genuine interest in education and inspiring young minds
- Experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, school-based roles) – desirable
- Ambition to pursue teacher training or an educational career
