A high-performing secondary school in Watford is offering a brilliant opportunity for a driven Science graduate to join their team as a Graduate Science Academic Mentor for the 2025–26 academic year.

Your Role:
As a Graduate Science Academic Mentor, your job is to build confidence, close knowledge gaps, and stretch the potential of students at all attainment levels.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Running 1:1 and small-group interventions across KS3 and KS4
- Supporting students with practical work, scientific writing, and exam skills
- Assisting in planning, preparation, and delivery of curriculum content in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
- Providing feedback and helping track student progress
- Acting as a relatable role model and champion for Science education
You’ll work closely with experienced Science teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN teams to help every student reach their potential.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A recent graduate in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Science, or related)
- Strong subject knowledge and clear communication skills
- A passion for education and a potential future in teaching or academic mentoring
- Confidence working with teenagers, with a calm and supportive approach
- Experience tutoring or mentoring young people is helpful, but not essential
The Offer:
- £25,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only
- Fixed-term contract (September 2025 – July 2026)
- Weekly pay and access to teacher training pathways if desired
