Your Role as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

In this role, you will:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support to students with a range of SEN, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional or mental health needs

  • Collaborate with class teachers to adapt lesson materials and ensure inclusive access to the curriculum

  • Support students in developing key life skills including self-confidence, independence, and communication

  • Contribute to a positive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour and emotional support strategies

  • Monitor and report student progress to the SENCo and wider teaching team, supporting the development of personalised learning plans

Who We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from graduates who:

  • Have recently completed a degree (ideally 2:1 or above) in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline

  • Have some experience working with young people with SEN, either in a school, care, or voluntary setting

  • Are calm, patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education

  • Have a genuine interest in progressing into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or similar child-centred professions
