The Role
As a Graduate Trainee Teacher of Mathematics, you will become a valued member of a committed and collaborative Maths department. Through gradual and supported involvement, you will build the skills, confidence, and subject expertise necessary for effective classroom teaching.
Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of high-quality Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Lead small-group interventions to reinforce core concepts and address individual learning needs

Assist with lesson planning, assessment, and curriculum development alongside experienced colleagues

Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and intellectually engaging classroom environment

Participate in weekly professional development sessions and ongoing mentorship as you work towards QTS

Get involved in extracurricular activities, department projects, and wider school life
Person Specification

A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline

A sincere interest in education and secondary teaching

Prior experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is advantageous

Strong communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative mindset

A willingness to reflect, learn, and grow professionally throughout the training year
