What you will do:

Work directly with young people referred to the youth justice service, completing high-quality assessments and reports for out-of-court panels and courts.

Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of records on relevant systems.

Deliver interventions aligned with Child First principles to prevent offending or re-offending among children and young people.

Manage an allocated caseload, ensuring tasks are completed within set timescales.

Cover duty and other tasks as directed by the team leader.

Represent the service at Youth Magistrates and Crown Courts as required.

Some hybrid working is possible, although there will be an expectation to be office-based and conduct visits within St Helens and occasionally stationed at the Magistrates Court in Liverpool.
Qualifications:

Experience in youth justice is essential – we seek someone who can hit the ground running.

Social Work qualified or NPS Probation Officer Qualified or Experienced Youth Justice worker with PCEP.
