What you will do:

• Work directly with young people referred to the youth justice service, completing high-quality assessments and reports for out-of-court panels and courts.

• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of records on relevant systems.

• Deliver interventions aligned with Child First principles to prevent offending or re-offending among children and young people.

• Manage an allocated caseload, ensuring tasks are completed within set timescales.

• Cover duty and other tasks as directed by the team leader.

• Represent the service at Youth Magistrates and Crown Courts as required.

• Some hybrid working is possible, although there will be an expectation to be office-based and conduct visits within St Helens and occasionally stationed at the Magistrates Court in Liverpool.

Qualifications:

• Experience in youth justice is essential – we seek someone who can hit the ground running.

• Social Work qualified or NPS Probation Officer Qualified or Experienced Youth Justice worker with PCEP.
