Social Worker within Safeguarding and Support Team in Ashton-under-Lyne earning £39 per hour - Hourly, Ongoing contract. What you will do:

  • Carry out thorough assessments of children in need, including those requiring protection and cared for children.
  • Coordinate service provision to meet the specific needs of children and their families.
  • Implement and oversee reviews and statutory visits according to statutory and service procedures.
  • Engage directly with children and families, fostering relationships to address their assessed needs.
  • Promote children's identity needs, including cultural, religious, and linguistic considerations.
  • Foster meaningful and open relationships with parents, carers, and children to motivate their full participation in addressing their needs.
  • Support parents and carers in their development to achieve optimal outcomes for children.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the service and with other agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and meet Professional Registration Standards set by Social Work England.
  • Prepare and present detailed information to Panels, Courts, and other agencies.
  • Maintain precise, up-to-date records on all activities and ensure effective communication with professionals involved.
  • Participate in regular supervision sessions with the Team Manager, preparing actively for each interaction.
  • Engage in ongoing training and commit to Continuing Professional Development.
  • Adhere to all Council and service policies and procedures regarding administration and professional practice.
  • Contribute to policy-making activities and the evaluation and review of service provision.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in social work.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Considerable frontline experience in Social Services within the UK as a qualified Social Worker.
