About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Approved Mental Health Professional specialising in children’s mental health to join our dedicated team in Cambridge. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop risk-informed care plans.

  • Provide professional leadership in complex cases and support planning.

  • Mentor and coach junior staff as a Practice Educator.

  • Manage a caseload autonomously, adhering to statutory and regulatory frameworks.

  • Chair safeguarding and child protection meetings, prepare reports for professional and legal contexts.

  • Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners to ensure integrated service delivery.

  • Participate in service development and staff induction programmes.

  • Monitor team performance and workload using data and management tools.


Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, Master’s, PGDip, or equivalent).

  • Registration with Social Work England.

  • Relevant post-qualifying and/or postgraduate training specific to AMHP duties.

  • Practice Educator qualification or commitment to achieving this within 12 months.

  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across the county.

  • Extensive experience in children’s mental health, risk assessment, and safeguarding.

  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and multi-agency collaboration.

  • Strong commitment to equality, diversity, and safe working practices.
