What you will do:

- Manage a caseload of complex cases to effectively utilize resources.
- Maintain your professional development in social work practice and model this to staff, fostering a strong learning culture.
- Use your professional skills to provide case reflection and management to team members, ensuring compliance with national and departmental standards.
- Support team members in enhancing their professional knowledge to improve the overall quality of practice.
- Attend court proceedings to offer professional input on high-profile cases.
- Collaborate regularly with peers to ensure consistent and high-standard practices across the Directorate.
- Supervise social work students and non-social work staff within the team.
- Build positive relationships with partners and local family courts for effective legal proceedings.
- Promote effective social work practice with clear, reflective supervision and case work.
- Encourage effective communication within the team and with partners to support children and families.
- Ensure that the perspectives of children, young people, and their parents/carers are integral to assessments and service development.
- Support the professional growth of team members by advising on case management and offering quality assurance.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to contribute to service improvement, ensuring children's voices are heard, and service plans are clear and accessible.

Requirements:

- Relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS).
- SWE registration.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Up-to-date knowledge of national and local policies, statutory guidance, and social care legislation.
- Understanding of social care processes and responsibilities, including person-centred planning.
- Knowledge of confidentiality principles and information governance.
- Awareness of inclusion, diversity, culture, equality, and equity and their impact on practice.
- Significant experience in assessing children's needs and improving their lives in a UK statutory setting.
