Team Manager – Children with Disabilities Team

Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity to join the Children with Disabilities Team in Havering as a Team Manager. This rewarding role allows you to lead a dedicated team delivering vital support to children and families, all within a borough celebrated for its strong community spirit and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Children with Disabilities Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality social work practice.

  • Support and supervise staff through case management, reflective practice, and professional development sessions.

  • Liaise with multi-agency professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

  • Organise and manage team meetings, development days, and performance reviews.

  • Maintain clear, compassionate communication with families, ensuring transparency and collaborative decision-making.

  • Uphold and monitor safeguarding standards for children and young people with complex needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (e.g., SWE).

  • Proven experience in managing or supervising within children’s services.

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation affecting children with disabilities.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
