This six-month contract offers both part-time and full-time options, paying a highly competitive £40.00 per hour.In this role, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred social work in line with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and associated legislation. What You Will Do Undertake Care Act assessments, support planning, reviews, and safeguarding enquiries. Work collaboratively with adults with learning disabilities, their families, and carers to identify strengths, needs, and desired outcomes. Manage a varied and complex caseload including Care Act assessments, support plans, and Mental Capacity Act assessments. Lead and contribute to Section 42 safeguarding enquiries where required. Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to protection and support planning. Maintain high-quality, accurate, and compliant case records in line with City of York Council policies. Ensure practice aligns with Social Work England professional standards and the BASW Code of Ethics. Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to service and team improvement. Requirements Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work. Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with adults with learning disabilities. Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding legislation. Excellent assessment, care planning, and case management skills.
