This excellent locum Social Worker opportunity offers a competitive rate of £38.00 per hour and the chance to play a vital role in ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time.Working within a Children's Social Care Screening Team, you will be responsible for reviewing referrals, assessing levels of risk, and making informed decisions to support effective safeguarding responses. This role is ideal for an experienced Children's Social Worker with strong knowledge of safeguarding, referral assessment, and early intervention.Key Responsibilities: Screen and assess incoming referrals relating to children, young people, and families.Analyse information from multiple sources to identify risk, need, and appropriate levels of intervention.Make timely decisions regarding referrals, ensuring children receive appropriate safeguarding support.Undertake initial assessments and gather relevant information from partner agencies.Identify safeguarding concerns and escalate risks appropriately, including referrals requiring further assessment.Work collaboratively with professionals across health, education, police, and other partner agencies.Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner organisations.Maintain accurate and detailed case records in line with statutory requirements.Ensure all decisions are child-focused and promote positive outcomes for children and families.Contribute to effective multi-agency safeguarding practice. Applicant Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.Current registration with Social Work England.Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care.Previous experience within Screening, MASH, Duty and Assessment, Referral and Assessment, or Safeguarding Teams.Strong understanding of child protection procedures, safeguarding legislation, and statutory guidance.Excellent analytical, assessment, and decision-making skills.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and report-writing abilities.Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
