Shift: Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm

Job Role of the Technical Sales Manager

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join a specialist manufacturer supplying technical products into transport, local authority and construction-related sectors.

The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for managing incoming sales enquiries, reviewing technical drawings and specifications, producing estimates, cost build-ups and quotations, and following up with customers. You will liaise with clients to understand project requirements, respond to technical queries and work closely with internal teams to support technical, project-led sales opportunities.

This role is predominantly focused on incoming enquiries rather than cold business development, but will require strong commercial awareness, technical understanding and the ability to manage customer relationships professionally.

• Sales and estimating experience
• Technical, manufacturing, construction or engineering background
• Experience producing estimates, cost build-ups and quotations from technical drawings/specifications

• Technical sales experience
• Sales estimating or technical estimating experience
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• Producing estimates, cost build-ups and customer quotations
• Quotation follow-up and customer relationship management
• Experience with technical, manufactured, engineered or construction-related products
• Customer-facing communication and technical query handling
• Commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of enquiries

Desirable Requirements of the Technical Sales Manager

• Fabricated metalwork, architectural metalwork or construction product sales
• Infrastructure, highways, civils or built-environment product experience
• Experience selling manufactured or engineered products into contractors, local authorities or transport-related customers
• Signage, wayfinding, street furniture or passenger transport infrastructure experience
• Manufacturing or production process knowledge
