Job Purpose:

As Team Manager for the Duty and Assessment Team, you will lead and support a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring high standards of practice in delivering responsive services to children and families. You will oversee assessments, decision-making processes, and interventions, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and best practice standards. The role is pivotal in safeguarding vulnerable children and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.


What You Will Do:

  • Lead and Manage: Supervise and support a team of social workers to maintain high standards of practice.

  • Provide Expert Guidance: Offer guidance on cases to ensure effective workload management.

  • Oversee Assessments and Decisions: Ensure timely and effective responses to safeguarding concerns, including initial assessments and child protection inquiries.

  • Safeguard Children: Oversee safety planning and ensure compliance with care plans and risk assessments.

  • Collaborate with Partners: Work closely with multi-agency partners to coordinate safeguarding efforts.

  • Drive Service Development: Lead initiatives for service improvement and quality assurance within the team.
