Core purpose of the role:
Your main aim is to provide effective day-to-day operational leadership and supervision to a team of culturally sensitive recovery support workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centred recovery support services. Additionally, you’ll manage a clinical caseload of clients, providing direct support and facilitating their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide line management and regular supervision to the team of Recovery Support Workers, ensuring adherence to organisational policies, clinical guidelines, and best practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs for team members.
- Coordinate and manage the daily staff rota and allocation of resources to meet client needs and service demands.
- Lead daily/weekly team meetings to communicate updates, discuss challenging cases, and promote a cohesive working environment.
- Ensure all team documentation and record-keeping are accurate, timely, and comply with data protection regulations.
- Deputise for the Service Manager in partnership meetings and in substance misuse system meetings in the borough.
Requirements:
- Significant experience (e.g., 2+ years) in a drug and alcohol treatment or related health/social care setting.
- Experience in a supervisory, mentoring, or leadership role within a similar environment.
- Experience of managing a complex client caseload, including conducting assessments and risk management.
- Experience of multi-agency working and partnership building.
- Strong working knowledge of current best practice in drug and alcohol treatment, recovery models, and harm reduction.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies for both adults and children.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) for building rapport with clients and leading a team.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a team of support workers effectively.
- Proven ability to prioritise workload, manage time efficiently, and make sound decisions under pressure.
