What you will do

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals presenting with substance misuse needs within the Criminal Justice pathway.
  • Develop personalised care and treatment plans tailored to individual recovery goals.
  • Prescribe non-controlled medications in accordance with your prescribing qualification and clinical guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote recovery, reduce harm, and improve health outcomes.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on substance misuse to colleagues, partner agencies, and Criminal Justice professionals.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and ongoing support to service users.
  • Encourage engagement with treatment, recovery programmes, and wider support services.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records and documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, service reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure practice remains compliant with professional, organisational, and legal standards.

Requirements

  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification: Essential.
  • Substance Misuse Experience: Previous experience working within drug and alcohol services.
  • Clinical Assessment Skills: Strong experience assessing, planning, and delivering treatment interventions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary working abilities.
  • Professional Registration: Relevant professional registration and prescribing authority.
