Social Worker – Practice Team (0–26)
Location: Just outside of Edinburgh (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £42 per hour
Contract: Temporary / Agency
Working Pattern: Hybrid working with a condensed 4-day week available if preferred
Seven Resourcing are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join a Practice Team (0–26) supporting children, young people, and young adults just outside of Edinburgh. The Role – Social Worker, Practice Team (0–26)
As a Social Worker within the Practice Team (0–26), you will work across a broad age range, supporting children, young people, and young adults up to 26 years old. You will deliver statutory social work interventions, assessments, and care planning in line with legislation, policy, and best practice.
You will work collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners to promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive long-term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities – Social Worker (Practice Team 0–26)

Undertake statutory assessments for children, young people, and young adults

Manage cases across the 0–26 age range, including transitions to adult services

Develop and implement care, support, and protection plans

Complete high-quality reports and attend reviews, meetings, and case conferences

Carry out direct work with service users and families

Work collaboratively with education, health, and third-sector partners

Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with local authority standards

Identify and manage risk effectively, using sound professional judgement
Requirements

Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

Post-qualifying experience in children’s, families, or transitions social work

Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and transition planning

Ability to manage a statutory caseload across a varied age range

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills

Ability to work effectively within a hybrid and flexible working model
