We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join the Early Help & Prevention Team in Bradford. This ongoing locum role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time working alongside a competitive hourly rate of £35. You will work within the Early Help & Prevention Service, delivering timely, strengths-based interventions to children, young people, and families to prevent escalation into statutory services.

This dynamic role focuses on early identification of need, effective multi-agency coordination, and family-led interventions that promote positive outcomes and reduce demand on safeguarding services.

What you will do:

  • Undertake Early Help Assessments and develop multi-agency Early Help plans.

  • Deliver direct work with children, young people, and families to address emerging needs and risks.

  • Identify protective factors and build family resilience using strengths-based approaches.

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to prevent escalation to statutory services.

  • Contribute to step-up and step-down processes between Early Help and Social Care.

  • Apply local thresholds to ensure timely and proportionate intervention.

  • Coordinate and chair Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.

  • Engage with education, health, police, housing, and voluntary sector partners.

  • Identify safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately when risks increase.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and outcome-focused case records.

  • Produce clear assessments, plans, and reports in line with service standards.

  • Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development.

Person Specification / Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work (BA / MA / DipSW).

  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE) is mandatory.

  • Post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care or Early Help services.

  • Experience working with children and families at an early intervention level.

  • Good understanding of thresholds and pathways between Early Help and statutory services.
