Pay Rate: £41–£43 per hour

The Role – Social Worker, Children and Families Team

As a Social Worker within the Children and Families Team, you will work directly with children, young people, and families to promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. You will manage a statutory caseload, undertaking assessments, interventions, and reviews in line with legislation and best practice.

You will be part of a supportive team environment, delivering high-quality social work services while benefiting from the lifestyle advantages of a scenic rural placement.

Key Responsibilities – Social Worker (Children and Families)

• Undertake statutory assessments of children and families

• Manage cases involving children in need, child protection, and looked-after children

• Develop and implement care plans and child protection plans

• Prepare high-quality reports and attend case conferences, reviews, and court hearings

• Carry out direct work with children, young people, and families

• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and support children

• Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with local authority requirements

• Identify and manage risk effectively using sound professional judgement

Requirements

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification

• Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

• Post-qualifying experience in Children and Families Social Work

• Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and children’s legislation

• Ability to manage a statutory caseload effectively

• Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
