Social Worker – Children and Families Team
Location: Dumfries and Galloway (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £42 per hour
Contract: Temporary / Agency
Working Pattern: Hybrid working with a condensed 4-day week available if preferred
Seven Resourcing are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join a Children and Families Team in Dumfries and Galloway. This role offers flexible hybrid working, a competitive hourly rate, and the option of a condensed four-day working week, supporting a strong work–life balance.

The Role – Social Worker, Children and Families Team
As a Social Worker within the Children and Families Team, you will work directly with children, young people, and families to promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. You will manage a statutory caseload, undertaking assessments, planning, interventions, and reviews in line with legislation and best practice.
You will work closely with multi-agency partners including education, health, and third-sector services to deliver effective, child-centred support.
Key Responsibilities – Social Worker (Children and Families)

Undertake statutory assessments of children and families

Manage cases involving children in need, child protection, and looked-after children

Develop and implement care plans and child protection plans

Prepare high-quality reports and attend case conferences, reviews, and court hearings

Carry out direct work with children, young people, and families

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and support children

Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with local authority requirements

Identify and manage risk effectively using sound professional judgement
Requirements

Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

Post-qualifying experience in Children and Families Social Work

Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and children’s legislation

Ability to manage a statutory caseload effectively

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills

Ability to work effectively within a hybrid and flexible working model
