A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Locum Social Worker to join the Child Protection Court Team within the London Borough of Brent at The Brent Civic Centre (HA9 0FJ). This full-time or part-time ongoing role offers flexibility, professional growth, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and families. Core hours are 9:00–17:00 Monday to Friday, with options such as 8:00–18:00 for four days a week or other variations to suit your schedule.

What You Will Do:

Conduct Core Assessments, pre-birth assessments, and risk assessments to safeguard children.

Carry out Section 47 Child Protection investigations and represent the authority in court.

Prepare court reports, including Section 7 and 37 reports, and provide statements to support legal proceedings.

Undertake home visits to monitor and ensure the safety and welfare of children.

Lead and coordinate core group meetings, liaising with other professionals and the police when necessary.

Oversee care proceedings, implementing and reviewing care plans tailored to children’s needs.

Supervise contact, prepare case conference reports, and participate in strategy meetings.

Complete Child in Need plans, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
