Step into a pivotal leadership role as a Fostering Support & Development Team Manager within Children’s Services in Medway. The position offers hybrid flexibility, typically working 2–3 days per week in the office, with the potential for additional office time when on duty.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team including Supervising Social Workers, Family Support Workers, and a Placement Officer, ensuring high standards of practice.

  • Oversee the support, supervision, and development of foster carers, ensuring placements are stable, safe, and effective.

  • Conduct Annual Reviews, assess performance, and maintain compliance with statutory frameworks and organisational policies.

  • Facilitate and chair meetings, forums, and consultations with foster carers, promoting open communication and collaborative working.

  • Implement innovative approaches to improve service delivery, with a focus on quality assurance and safeguarding.

  • Provide strategic input and guidance to enhance outcomes for children and young people in foster care.


About You:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience in a Local Authority setting, including management or senior practitioner roles.

  • Strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding frameworks, and Children’s Services legislation.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance.
