Role Overview:
As Team Manager within the Children with Disabilities Service, you will provide operational and professional leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality statutory social work. You will oversee safeguarding, care planning, short breaks, and transitions to adulthood, while promoting strong multi-agency collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for children and their families.
What You Will Do:

Lead, manage, and supervise Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, and support staff within the CWD service.

Provide reflective supervision, performance management, and professional development support.

Manage workloads and capacity to ensure safe, timely, and effective practice.

Maintain oversight of complex and high-risk cases, ensuring statutory duties are met.

Ensure robust safeguarding practice and contribute to strategy discussions, legal planning meetings, and case reviews.

Oversee effective transition planning and promote coordinated, outcome-focused multi-agency working.

Lead quality assurance activity and drive service improvement using data, audits, and feedback.

Work closely with education, health, SEND services, adult social care, and commissioned providers.
Requirements:

Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA / MA / DipSW) and registration with Social Work England (mandatory).

Experience: Significant post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care, with substantial experience in Children with Disabilities or complex needs services. Proven experience in a management or senior practitioner role is essential.
