We are delighted to be able to recruit an additional part-time Independent Fostering Reviewing Officer to join Wigan’s Independent Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit. In this vital role, you will ensure that the Local Authority fulfils its statutory responsibility to undertake reviews of approved foster carers.

What you will do:
- Organise, advise, and chair statutory reviews of foster carers, ensuring all processes adhere to legal requirements.
- Provide support and guidance to foster carers, assuring that they receive the necessary advice and training.
- Hold a scrutiny and challenge role, ensuring effective assessments and achieving positive outcomes for children in care.
- Work collaboratively with practitioners to enhance service provision and support networks.

Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant frontline experience in Social Services within the UK as a qualified Social Worker
