What You Will Do

Conduct detailed community assessments within a local authority setting to identify individual needs and recommend appropriate standard and specialist moving and handling equipment.

Perform comprehensive moving and handling assessments, ensuring safe practices and compliance with all relevant guidelines.

Work closely with residents, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to develop personalised plans that promote safe mobility and independence.

Assess and demonstrate single-handed care solutions within community environments.

Maintain accurate and thorough records in line with professional, legal, and organisational standards.

Provide training and guidance to formal and informal carers on safe moving and handling techniques and effective use of prescribed equipment.
Candidate Requirements

HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.

Full, valid driving licence, as travel across Blackburn to visit clients is essential.
