What You Will Do

• Conduct detailed community assessments within a local authority setting to identify individual needs and recommend appropriate standard and specialist moving and handling equipment.

• Perform comprehensive moving and handling assessments, ensuring safe practices and compliance with all relevant guidelines.

• Work closely with residents, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to develop personalised plans that promote safe mobility and independence.

• Assess and demonstrate single-handed care solutions within community environments.

• Maintain accurate and thorough records in line with professional, legal, and organisational standards.

• Provide training and guidance to formal and informal carers on safe moving and handling techniques and effective use of prescribed equipment.

Candidate Requirements

• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.

• Full, valid driving licence, as travel across Blackburn to visit clients is essential.
