What you will do:

  • Carry out Core Assessments, pre-birth assessments, and risk assessments to evaluate the needs and protection of children.
  • Perform Section 47 Child Protection Investigations and take the lead in ensuring the safety of vulnerable children.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and statements for court proceedings, including Section 7 and 37 reports.
  • Represent the authority in court to provide evidence and advocate for the protection and welfare of children.
  • Conduct home visits to monitor the well-being and safety of children in their home environments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Convene and chair core group meetings to ensure collaborative planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to provide a holistic approach to safeguarding.
  • Carry out joint investigations and interviews with the police when necessary.
  • Initiate and manage care proceedings from start to finish, ensuring that appropriate care plans are implemented.
  • Supervise contact and write detailed reports for case conferences.
  • Attend case conferences and strategy meetings to provide your expert input.
  • Develop and implement Child in Need plans to support families and children effectively.
