An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the Children in Need Team within Children’s Services in Leicester. This ongoing locum role offers a competitive £38.00 hourly rate and a fulfilling chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families. You’ll enjoy a balanced schedule — Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm — with hybrid working that allows for both remote work and in-office collaboration.

What You Will Do:

Manage a diverse caseload of children in need across Leicester, ensuring tailored and effective support for each family.
Undertake complex Child Protection and Safeguarding work, making timely interventions and informed decisions.
Prepare and present court reports, attending hearings as required to advocate for children’s best interests.
Engage directly with children and families to assess needs, provide guidance, and ensure every voice is heard.
Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and police services, to promote holistic family well-being.
Maintain accurate, detailed case records in compliance with statutory requirements and organisational policies.

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.
Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience in Children’s Services.
Proven expertise in court work and child protection.
Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
