What you will do:

  • Provide a social work service to Children Looked After in accordance with legislative and statutory requirements.
  • Undertake proportionate individual assessments to establish ongoing care and support needs, developing appropriate interventions.
  • Co-produce, implement, and review Care and Support Plans to ensure children reach their personal well-being outcomes.
  • Collaborate with children, families, and other agencies to safeguard and promote a child's safety and well-being.
  • Pursue enquiries regarding child abuse and neglect allegations following safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Manage Care and Support Plans for children, conduct child visits, maintain relationships with parents/carers, coordinate meetings, and prepare for review.
  • Participate in legal proceedings for safeguarding a child's permanence, consulting with senior social workers when needed.
  • Handle "duty" responsibilities on a rota basis and manage a personal caseload effectively.
  • Engage in team meetings, staff briefings, and contribute to service development.
  • Maintain accurate case recordings and prepare detailed reports for deadlines.
  • Build professional interagency networks and ensure compliance with Social Services procedures and guidelines.
