What You Will Do:
Practice Leadership:

Lead and manage complex pre-birth assessments, ensuring decisions are child-centred and comply with statutory requirements.

Provide reflective supervision and case consultations to social workers in the Pre-Birth Team.

Champion best practices in safeguarding, addressing concerns such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health.

Represent the service in legal proceedings and strategic meetings, ensuring a consistent focus on child welfare.
Case Management & Safeguarding:

Maintain high standards in case recording, planning, and interventions in line with policy and professional guidelines.

Develop and implement pre-birth and child protection plans, ensuring timely and effective responses.

Chair and lead multi-agency discussions to guide informed, collaborative decision-making.

Undertake direct family work, modelling effective engagement to reduce risks and promote safety.
Multi-Agency Collaboration:

Build strong partnerships with midwives, maternity teams, and health professionals to ensure joined-up care.

Lead and contribute to multi-agency planning meetings to deliver comprehensive pre-birth support.

Represent the Trust at safeguarding forums and panels, advocating for vulnerable families.
Professional Development:

Mentor and support less experienced practitioners through coaching and reflective supervision.

Contribute to team training initiatives focused on pre-birth safeguarding and early intervention.

Maintain active Social Work England registration and stay up-to-date with CPD requirements.
