What You Will Do:

• Caseload Management: Handle complex cases involving child protection and care planning, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.

• Supervision and Mentoring: Provide guidance and supervision to less experienced social workers, helping them navigate complex issues.

• Reporting and Court Preparation: Prepare detailed reports and provide evidence in court, advocating for the best interests of children.

• Risk Assessments: Use evidence-based tools to conduct thorough risk assessments, ensuring child protection within families.

• Collaborative Work: Build strong, integrated partnerships with health, education, and law enforcement to support families effectively.

• Safeguarding Leadership: Lead safeguarding initiatives, ensuring statutory requirements are met and promoting preventative measures to avoid children entering care.

• Service Development: Contribute to service development and be an advocate for service user rights and needs.

• Legislative Awareness: Stay up to date with changes in legislation and procedures, engaging in continuous professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Essential: A recognised Social Work qualification, registered with Social Work England, and experience in complex child protection and safeguarding.

• Desirable: Post-qualification training in relevant areas such as family therapy or similar practices.
