£45,000 - £55,000 per annum plus benefits

Leiston, Suffolk (ideally candidate will be within a daily commute from site)

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Section or Senior Engineer to join our team delivering major infrastructure and road projects in the Leiston, Suffolk area. This is a permanent, full-time role offering long-term career development with a well-established civil engineering contractor.
You'll be working on significant infrastructure schemes involving complex groundworks, earthworks, drainage, structures, surfacing and associated civil works. This role suits someone who enjoys being on-site, takes ownership of setting out duties, and thrives in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate setting out for roads, drainage, structures, and associated works
• Act as the technical lead for your section of works, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure smooth delivery of works
• Maintain site records, including diaries, progress reports, and quality checks
• Supervise junior engineers and contribute to their development
• Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times on site
• Assist with the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, and permits

Requirements:

• HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Strong experience in setting out and delivering road and infrastructure projects
• Valid CSCS card (essential)
• SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
• Experience supervising teams and managing small sections of work
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
