Join our insurance team in Solihull as a Senior Claims Handler / Insurance Officer, managing a small team and your own caseload. Focus on personal injury and third-party property claims relating to Public and Employers' Liability, playing a key role in claims management and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a small claims team and handle a personal caseload of Public and Employers' Liability claims.

Deputise for the Insurance Manager, assisting with procurement and renewal of the insurance programme.

Ensure claims processes comply with civil procedures and legislative requirements.

Participate in small claims court proceedings, monitor costs, and provide guidance on liability and defence.

Collaborate with council-appointed solicitors to develop effective claims management strategies.

Conduct site visits and attend court hearings, providing instructions to counsel.

Act as the main contact for solicitors and council directorates, organising meetings and offering advice.

Maintain and update the council's electronic claims handling system.

Administer aspects of the insurance programme and address queries from stakeholders.

Liaise with insurers and brokers to arrange ad-hoc insurance covers.

Provide first-line management to claims team members and assist with management information reporting.
