What you will do
• Assessment: Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and young people with disabilities.
• Equipment Provision: Assess, recommend, and review specialist equipment to support independence and safety.
• Adaptations: Provide recommendations and oversee the provision of minor adaptations to meet individual needs.
• Intervention Planning: Develop personalised action and intervention plans designed to maximise independence and minimise risk.
• Multi-Agency Working: Work closely with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies to deliver holistic support.
• Risk Management: Identify risks and implement practical solutions that promote wellbeing and accessibility.
• Review and Monitoring: Monitor outcomes and review interventions to ensure they remain effective and appropriate.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records, reports, and assessments in accordance with HCPC standards and organisational policies.
• Family Support: Provide advice and guidance to families and carers to help them access appropriate resources and services.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Occupational Therapy Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Children's Services Experience: Previous experience working with children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
• Assessment Skills: Strong experience undertaking equipment assessments and adaptation recommendations.
• Knowledge: Understanding of disability, child development, and person-centred practice.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Multi-Agency Working: Proven ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Organisational Skills: Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines effectively.
