Occupational Therapist - Adults and Children Team in Barking, London
Salary: Up to £38.00 per hour
Duration: 3 Months

What you will do:

- Undertake person-centred Occupational Therapy assessments as per the Care Act 2014.
- Assess the needs, risks, and outcomes for adults and children with disabilities.
- Complete moving and handling risk assessments and recommend specialist equipment, adaptations, care technology, and reablement interventions.
- Support service users and carers to maximise independence and wellbeing.
- Carry out major adaptation assessments and provide specifications and recommendations.
- Produce comprehensive Occupational Therapy reports and clinical documentation.
- Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and case conferences.
- Manage and progress a complex caseload within agreed timescales.
- Liaise with health, housing, social care, voluntary and private sector agencies.
- Provide advice, guidance and supervision to unqualified staff, newly qualified OTs, and students.
- Participate in safeguarding investigations and duty functions as required.

Requirements:

- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Enhanced DBS.
- Extensive experience in Occupational Therapy across adult and paediatric social care settings.
- Experience in assessing for specialist equipment and adaptations.
- Proficiency in undertaking moving and handling assessments.
- Knowledge of reablement pathways, assistive technology, the Care Act 2014, and the Children and Families Act 2014.
- Experience in managing complex caseloads and strong report-writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with external agencies and multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of GDPR and electronic case management systems.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet service deadlines.
- Experience within a local authority Occupational Therapy service.
- Experience in supervising students or junior staff.
- Experience in completing major adaptation assessments.
- Experience working within integrated health and social care teams.
