Job Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join a growing FMCG manufacturing business based in Hayes. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for mechanical fitting, fabrication and MIG welding, working on a variety of production and packaging machinery including conveyors, labellers, packaging equipment and multi-head weighers.

The role will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive mechanical repairs, as well as supporting the fabrication and modification of machine components, guards and frames. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter looking to develop their skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with opportunities for training, overtime and long-term progression.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of “Mechanical Fitter”

Must have mechanical fitting or mechanical maintenance experience within an FMCG, manufacturing, production or industrial engineering environment.

Must have MIG welding and fabrication experience.

Must have experience working with mechanical components 

Essential Requirements of “Mechanical Fitter”

Strong mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting skills.

Experience using workshop tools and fabrication equipment.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Desirable Requirements of “Mechanical Fitter”

Experience with manual machining including manual lathes and general workshop machining.
