Employment Specialist (IPS)
Location: Hull, East Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £22.00 – £24.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary – 3 Months
Hours: Full Time
Seven Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced Employment Specialist (Individual Placement and Support – IPS) to join a specialist support service in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for an employability professional or support worker with experience helping individuals overcome barriers to employment and achieve sustainable work outcomes.
Working as part of a community-based drug and alcohol support service, you will provide tailored employment guidance to clients in structured treatment, helping them identify career goals, secure suitable employment and maintain long-term success in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of approximately 25 clients who are motivated to start or return to paid employment.
- Deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, with training provided where required.
- Work one-to-one with clients to understand their skills, aspirations and employment goals.
- Create personalised vocational profiles and action plans to support clients into sustainable employment.
- Provide support with CV writing, job applications, interview preparation and career development.
- Identify and address barriers to employment, including confidence, wellbeing, benefits and workplace adjustments.
- Build strong relationships with local employers to identify suitable job opportunities.
- Provide ongoing support to clients and employers once employment has been secured.
- Attend clinical team meetings and work collaboratively with health, social care and support professionals.
- Maintain accurate case records, employment data and outcome monitoring information.
- Promote equality, challenge discrimination and support clients experiencing barriers within the labour market.
- Develop relationships with external organisations, training providers and community partners.
Applicant Requirements
- Experience supporting people into employment, training or education.
- Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment, including those with substance misuse, health or social support needs.
- Strong understanding of employability services, vocational support or recovery-focused practice.
- Excellent communication, motivational and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently while contributing to a wider team.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and accurate record keeping.
- Understanding of safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults.
- Experience delivering IPS services or employment support is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in employability, advice and guidance, health, social care or a related area are advantageous.
