Beluga Rox are searching for a Deputy Quality & Compliance Manager to work within our clients Quality and Compliance team. You will have primary responsibility for working with our Group Head of Quality & Compliance to develop and implement an internal quality audit tool to measure the compliance and quality in our OFSTED registered children’s homes.

You will also support the established quality and compliance team in monitoring performance in our CQC registered services, and support the Group Head of Quality & Compliance in day-to-day compliance duties.

You will be visiting our clients OFSTED registered children’s homes and conducting internal quality and compliance audits as well as remote online monitoring. This is a field-based role with some travel around sites within the Northwest, therefore the ideal candidate will have a full driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

We’re looking for someone who can work under their own initiative and who has knowledge and experience in auditing against the OFSTED standards for children’s homes. Ideally but not essentially you will also have knowledge and experience of CQC / CIW registered domiciliary care services.

Core responsibilities

  • Supporting the Group Head of Quality & Compliance to develop and implement an internal Quality & Compliance Audit for OFSTED registered children’s homes.
  • Auditing records and processes, reporting on findings against quality and compliance standards, identifying any good or non-compliant practices using internal audit processes and systems. 
  • Ensuring clear Post-Audit feedback discussion and guidance is delivered to management to ensure findings are fully understood and acted upon to improve quality within services.
  • Support Teams to develop action plans following internal audits and provide critical input or lead in formulation of plans to support teams to address audit findings and implement lessons learned.
  • Identifying lessons learned across the group and monitoring how these are properly implemented to reduce risk and improve quality.
  • Supporting the Group Head of Quality & Compliance in analysing audit findings to improve processes and quality across the organisation.
  • Developing positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, adopting a partnership approach to improvement of quality in practice.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Quality Assurance processes and audit tools alongside the Group Head of Quality & Compliance.
  • Liaising with line manager and complying with requirements regarding supervision, undertaking continuous professional development and attendance at formal training.
  • Being aware and responsive to the differing needs of all our staff and customers.
  • Undertaking any other duties in relation to this area of work.

You will need to have/be:

  • Experience of undertaking audits
  • Understanding of audits and their purpose
  • Understanding of OFSTED regulations and standards for Childrens Homes
  • Ideally but not essential understanding and knowledge of CQC/CIW regulations, key lines of enquiry and the CQC single assessment framework.
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight timescales and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work positively and constructively with colleagues, managers and customers through effective communication and networking skills.
  • Understanding and ability to deliver detailed audit findings and information in a clear and constructive way.
  • Ability to analyse and critique poor practice as well as the ability to recognise and celebrate good practice.
  • Be adaptable and able to respond to change in a positive way.
