Pay Rate: PAYE £36.19 per hour / Umbrella £47.50 per hour
Additional Payment: On-call rate of £33 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary

Children’s Team Manager – Family First Front Door Team
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for experienced Children’s Team Managers to join a Family First Front Door Service in Plymouth on a temporary contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Work Team Manager to lead a busy Front Door and Assessment Service, ensuring children, young people, and families receive timely support, effective safeguarding interventions, and high-quality social work services.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, management, and professional supervision to a team of social workers, promoting excellent practice and ensuring vulnerable children are protected through robust assessment and decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a Children’s Social Care Front Door Team.
• Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to social workers and family practitioners.
• Ensure referrals are effectively screened, assessed, and progressed in line with statutory requirements.
• Promote excellent safeguarding practice and ensure children are protected from harm.
• Monitor team performance, workload allocation, and case progression.
• Support staff development through regular one-to-one and group supervision sessions.
• Provide oversight of complex child protection, safeguarding, and assessment cases.
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Social Care legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, education, police, and community services.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and support the delivery of positive outcomes for children and families.
• Participate in the management on-call rota as required.
Applicant Requirements
• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care.
• Previous experience as a Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, Practice Manager, or Senior Practitioner within Children’s Services.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, referral and assessment processes, and statutory social work practice.
• Experience managing social work teams and supporting professional development.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage complex safeguarding concerns and operate effectively within a fast-paced Front Door environment.
• Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children, young people, and families.
