Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver statutory child protection services in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and relevant legislation

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children’s needs and family circumstances

  • Formulate, implement, and review plans that prioritise the welfare and outcomes of the child

  • Provide support, guidance, and interventions to help families strengthen resilience and independence

  • Prepare high-quality reports for courts and multi-agency meetings, and provide evidence when required

  • Chair and contribute to core group and multi-agency meetings effectively

  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation using local systems

  • Undertake direct work with children and families to progress plans and secure timely outcomes

  • Work collaboratively with Lead Family Help Practitioners to ensure statutory duties are fulfilled

  • Complete specialist assessments following appropriate training
