What You Will Do:

  • Support Social Workers and Managers in preparing high-quality, timely casework for court and the Child, Youth, and Community Tribunal.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to improve the quality and consistency of reports and documentation.

  • Attend Legal Planning Meetings, ensuring outcomes are tracked, recorded, and implemented effectively.

  • Promote collaboration across service areas, ensuring smooth case progression and adherence to all relevant protocols.

  • Advise on the instruction of expert witnesses and manage related expenditure efficiently.

  • Track and monitor case progress, identifying delays or issues for escalation where necessary.

  • Develop performance metrics and provide analytical reports to drive service improvement and identify training needs.

  • Engage in personal development activities and contribute to team-wide learning and best practice sharing.

  • Actively participate in inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes to maintain and elevate standards.


Key Criteria:

  • A professional social work qualification with significant experience in Public Law family proceedings, or an equivalent legal qualification with post-qualification expertise.

  • Excellent knowledge of the Children Law and a solid grasp of legal processes relevant to safeguarding and permanence.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to manage complex caseloads effectively.

  • Proven experience in mentoring and supporting social work professionals.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
