Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the CAMHS Team in the beautiful region of Ayrshire & Arran. Offering a competitive hourly rate of £37.64 and the flexibility to work full-time or part-time, this role is perfect for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to advance their career while making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with complex mental health needs.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering specialist interventions, supporting recovery, and improving participation in daily life for young people and their families within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced and specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties.

  • Deliver both individual and group-based interventions focusing on self-care, emotional regulation, functional skills, and participation in meaningful activities.

  • Manage a complex caseload using highly developed clinical reasoning and decision-making.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient-centred care plans in partnership with young people, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.

  • Lead OT-specific risk assessments and contribute to safety planning and crisis management.

  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to junior staff members and students.

  • Lead and participate in service improvement initiatives within CAMHS and represent Occupational Therapy in multidisciplinary meetings.

  • Collaborate closely with schools, paediatric services, social work, and external agencies to ensure integrated care.
