What you will do:
- Perform a wide range of complex CT examinations including trauma, cardiac, angiography and contrast-enhanced studies in accordance with agreed protocols.
- Independently assess referrals and ensure imaging requests comply with IR(ME)R regulations and departmental procedures.
- Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients throughout imaging procedures while responding appropriately to adverse reactions.
- Provide day-to-day clinical supervision and support to Band 5 and Band 6 Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and Trainee Radiographers.
- Contribute to workforce planning, departmental audits, quality assurance programmes and service improvement projects.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- BSc Hons Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Postgraduate qualification or significant specialist training in Computed Tomography.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Cannulation and intravenous contrast administration competency.
Registration and Compliance:
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC.
- Thorough understanding of Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations IRMER.
Experience:
- Significant post-registration NHS Diagnostic Radiography experience.
- Proven experience working within a busy NHS CT department.
- Experience supporting trauma, emergency and acute imaging pathways.
