Role overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse to join a Criminal Justice Substance Misuse Service in Medway, Kent. This ongoing locum role offers a competitive rate of £34 per hour and a flexible hybrid working pattern, with on-site presence required three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday, 09:00–17:00).
You will play a key role in delivering specialist clinical interventions to individuals within the criminal justice system, supporting recovery and improving health outcomes in a challenging yet highly rewarding environment.

What you will do

Conduct FibroScan and ECG procedures safely and effectively.

Administer Buvidal, Hepatitis B, and thiamine vaccinations in line with clinical guidelines.

Carry out and coordinate home visits where required to support continuity of care.

Work collaboratively within the criminal justice system, supporting individuals with substance misuse needs.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records and reports.

Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and risk management processes.
About you

Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.

Experience within substance misuse and/or criminal justice services.

Competent in administering vaccinations and relevant clinical procedures (FibroScan and ECG experience desirable).

Strong risk assessment, safeguarding, and care planning skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
