We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Stroke Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team in Leicester, Leicestershire, for a full-time position lasting seven months. What you will do

• Assess and treat patients requiring rehabilitation following an acute stroke.
• Deliver Occupational Therapy interventions with a focus on stroke rehabilitation within a dedicated ward setting.
• Facilitate inpatient rehabilitation programmes with attention to individual patient needs.
• Support and lead upper limb rehabilitation groups, encouraging patient participation and progress.
• Conduct comprehensive functional assessments and contribute to effective treatment planning.
• Collaborate closely with therapy teams and the wider multidisciplinary team for integrated patient care.
• Communicate effectively with families to align on patient care and rehabilitation goals.
• Facilitate discharge planning to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.
• Complete onward referrals to appropriate community services and maintain accurate clinical records and reports.

Additional Information

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: March 2027
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30, with some flexibility on working pattern

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Band 6 Occupational Therapy experience
• Acute Stroke Rehabilitation experience
• Experience treating patients following acute stroke
• Minimum 6 months current UK NHS experience
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to manage an inpatient rehabilitation caseload

Desirable Requirements

• Experience facilitating rehabilitation groups
• Experience within Stroke Rehabilitation Wards
• Experience supporting discharge pathways
• Community rehabilitation experience
