We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our family safeguarding team in Bury. As a Family Safeguarding Practitioner, you will play a crucial role for the next 3 months, contributing to the support and care of families where mental health impacts parenting capacity. Full-time applicants are preferred, with 37.5 hours per week on offer, but flexibility in working hours is available. You can choose from options like starting early at 8 am and finishing at 6 pm over 3-4 days, or sticking to a more traditional 9 to 5 schedule. Part-time applicants will also be considered.

What you will do:

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for parents and collaborate with social workers to devise personalised intervention plans.
  • Provide essential mental health support and guidance to parents, aiming to improve parenting capacity and family wellbeing.
  • Act as a liaison between families and support services, ensuring proper signposting to additional resources when necessary.
  • Document care plans and progress thoroughly and maintain effective communication within the safeguarding team.
  • Offer expert mental health consultation, advice, and supervision to other team members when needed.
