Job Purpose:

To deliver high-quality musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and management for patients with MSK and orthopaedic conditions in outpatient, community, or primary care settings. You will work autonomously at a senior clinician level, supervising junior staff and contributing to service improvement initiatives, quality standards, and patient outcomes.

What You Will Do:

• Conduct complex MSK assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning using advanced clinical reasoning.

• Independently manage a defined caseload of MSK patients, ensuring timely reassessment and discharge.

• Implement evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and education.

• Promote self-management and rehabilitation to optimise patient independence and recovery.

• Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical pathways and patient outcomes.

• Lead or contribute to service audits and quality improvement initiatives.

• Provide mentorship and clinical leadership to junior physiotherapists and support staff.

• Maintain accurate and compliant patient records in line with professional and organisational standards.

• Be willing to travel across multiple sites within Berkshire, ensuring flexibility to meet service needs.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Degree in Physiotherapy and HCPC registration.

• Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) membership or willingness to join.

• Minimum 18 months post-qualification experience in MSK physiotherapy.

• Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and treatment skills in MSK conditions.

• Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff.

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in NHS MSK outpatient or community settings at Band 6 level.

• Postgraduate training or a specialist interest in MSK physiotherapy.

• Experience in primary care triage or community MSK services.

• Involvement in service redesign or quality improvement initiatives.
