Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lessons on your principal instrument or instrument family

Plan lessons, maintain registers, and complete assessments and progress reports

Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, schools, and partner organisations

Promote opportunities available through Rotherham Music

Contribute to concerts, workshops, masterclasses, and other music projects

Attend staff and departmental meetings to support effective service delivery

Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing of pupils, parents, and colleagues in line with service policies

Undertake additional duties as required by management
Role Objectives
As part of the Culture, Sport and Tourism Service, Regeneration, and Environment, you will ensure that all pupils within the Rotherham community have access to enriching musical experiences. You will support the development of Rotherham Music, enabling children and young people to engage with and influence music in the Local Authority.
Skills and Experience

Proven experience delivering instrumental lessons and assessing pupil progress

Competence in lesson planning, register keeping, and report writing

Understanding of Child Protection, safeguarding in schools, Children and Families Act 2014, and SEN Code of Practice 2015

Strong teamwork and communication skills to build professional relationships with schools, parents, and pupils
