Job Title: Team Manager (Social Work) – Connected Carers Team

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced social work professional to join Durham Council as a Team Manager within the Connected Carers Team, part of the fostering service. This role offers the chance to lead and inspire a dedicated team, combining office-based work in Seaham with the flexibility of remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of fostering social workers, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the assessment and support of connected carers, maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Work collaboratively with a social work consultant to enhance team performance and outcomes.
Provide quality assurance oversight, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across the service.
Support the planning and delivery of strategic objectives for the Connected Carers Team.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England (SWE).
Substantial post-qualification experience within fostering or children’s services.
Proven management and leadership skills within social work settings.
Strong understanding of legislation, guidance and best practice in fostering and connected carers.
Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making abilities.
